DESCRIPTION: Bright Discs is part of my Colour Circle Series of oil paintings. Here I play with colours in a formal composition. Although this is an early work dated 2007, the painting is in good condition, as it is varnished to prevent dust and scratches.

I love the challenge of working with colours that interact with each other. I enjoy creating brightness and beauty because it gives my spirits a lift. I wish to make colours sing in dynamic harmony and I hope viewers will experience good emotions.

Inspiration for Bright Discs came from a DVD held up to the light as it flashed through the spectrum of colours on the silver surface. I thought of spinning rims with radiating bands of colours.
A rich quality finish is assured with three layers of oil pigments and time to dry between each layer. Finished with Damar Varnish to protect the surface from dust & scratches.

Please Note: Economic and low carbon shipping from Australia. Large works are taken off the stretcher frame, carefully packaged and shipped in a strong plastic tube. Your painting can easily be re-mounted on a new stretcher frame by your local picture framer. The cost is much less than shipping the artwork on the frame in a plywood box.

A signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity is included.
